Vladimir Putin has claimed (August 10 2020 ) that Russia has successfully developed a vaccine for Coronavirus 19. Putin revealed that his two daughters have been vaccinated and that mass production will begin very soon.  According to Le figaro.fr. Putin  claimed that the vaccine was effective and that it provided “durable” immunity.  The article states  that phase three tests involving thousands of subjects have not ended,  but will commence this coming Wednesday. 

The vaccine has been termed “Sputnik V” in honor of Russia’s  first manned flight into earth orbit. Putin has added that more than a billion doses have been prepared for twenty foreign countries  and that industrial production will commence in September.  Developed by the Ministry of  Defense in cooperation with the  Russian firm “ Binnopharm”, the vaccine is planned to be in wide circulation by January 1, 2021. 

The idea —of an early vaccine—when suggested by President Trump, was widely panned by our politicized  media—but much as President Trump predicted—The Russians proved it is possible.   Perhaps this will stimulate our American counterparts and we will also see wide production here byJanuary 2021! 

BIDEN THUMBS NOSE AT CATHOLIC VOTE

This says it all:   Joe Biden —has gone to his knees for the new left Dems when he abandoned his support for the Hyde Amendment (forcing Catholics and others of faith to go against their conscience when their tax dollars are used to pay for abortions which they oppose). 

Catholics were once a solid voter block  for the Democrats.  But that was in the 1960s   Today’s practicing  Catholics are excluded from the New Left Democrat Party. For good reason. The modern Democrats have moved so far left they have left 40 to 50 million Catholic voters on a dusty roadside-as their shiny NewLeft Dem (with yellow lettering “Black Lives Matter” ) bus roars off down the road into the eastern socialist sunset.

Catholics today face the reality of the Far Left New Dems who have torn up  the Hyde Amendment (terming it quaint and outmoded). While  they avidly support abortion on demand, taking innocent life  in the last trimester of pregnancy, birthing a vital infant only to set the infant aside —to die “comfortably”.

Today’s Catholics find the Dem leadership (Biden, Pelosi, Cuomo. etc etc) all “Catholics” in name only—who seem to have formulated their own “religion” of the left.  These hypocrites  openly cater to  anti religious zealots,  express disdain for conservative sexual values, support rampant promiscuity.   They oppose judgeship candidates who have ties To religious organizations such as the Knights of Columbus, as they  give  open support to violent mobs who deface churches, throw paint on religious statues, burn churches, attack the clergy, and defame the Church.

These “catholics” abandoned the precepts of their faith long ago for political expediency and vote harvesting—a existential necessity in a party which  looks askance at religiosity.of any stripe. But they continue to Claim identity as “Catholic” even as they undermine the values, life-ways and federal laws which protect the adherents of that faith.

When not facing voters at a ballot box these apostates undermine and attack the the very values of the faith they have for all practical purposes they abandoned .  They attack  the Hyde Amendment, ignore  family values of home, hearth, child raising,  religious education,  opposition to rampant promiscuous sexual  behaviors and show disdain for the religious fervor of the the faithful. Treating these faithful as somehow less deserving of political support or as “irredeemables”

A real practicing Catholic has no place in the tiny tent the modern Democrats  have erected around their minority demographic—anti God, anti Bible, pro-abortionists, pro LBGTQ+ community, pro sexual predators, religious iconoclasts , “antifa“ -supporting mobs, and church and priest haters.

Biden —who has dropped to his knees to the powers of the new left —supporting  every far left, anti Catholic  nail and plank in the New Democrat Far left  platform.  Yet when called out on his abandonment of religious principles by the President,  he has squealed like a stuck pig.

Biden has long ago made the hypocrites’ choice of hanging on to “I’m a Catholic” for votes only.  Don’t fall for his hypocrisy .

FAUCI and TRUMP

DrAnthony Fauci agreed with the leading question posed by CNBC interviewer Dr Sanjay Gupta.  Gupta’s query: Isit true that the USA “has the worst Covid 19 outbreak in the world?” Yes, said Fauci, “The numbers don’t lie”.

Of course we all know—Fauci included—that numbers do lie. Manipulating numerical data to make a political point  one way or another is a a lucrative cottage industry in Washington and in politics in general .and Fauci is part of that scene.  Gupta’s question being a prime exmple of that effort.  Fauci who has a long history as a presidential public health advisor going back to President Reagan, has an ego bigger than his physical stature would indicate. Perhaps those two factors are causally related and much of his verbal sparring with the President may be attributed to a bruised ego and a much more progressive political philosophy than that of the President he has promised to advise.

 Fauci who tries to present an aura of infallibility is now famous (or infamous) for a number of errors and misstatements of his own.  Early in the Covid 19 pandemic, Fauci stated that there was no need to wear masks.  His early advice: “no masks needed” was eventually altered to: “masks obligatory”.

In regard to treatment protocols, he has been  adamant in in his opposition to the use of the drug:  hydroxychloroquine.   When anecdotal evidence indicated that this long used (for 40 years) drug —widely and safely used as an immunosuppressant, anti-parasitic, and for lupus and arthritis treatment—showed promise in the early treatment of Covid19 and may have prophylactic effects, he belittled those who suggested its use   Though Fauci had no alternative evidence that “it was of no use’ he insisted that it be banned and circumscribed.   In response to his widely read statements —several poorly devised (and one actual phony study—later withdrawn from publication) attempted to “prove” just that.  But again —he was shown to be wrong —and more recently, new studies (double blind “gold standard”) studies have revealed the efficacy of the drug Especially when used to treat patients early in the infection.

And finally,  the “numbers don’t lie” statement to Sanjay Gupta during the CNBC interview are pure hyperbole—unbecoming and reeking of bias from a supposed scientist.   (Fauci states that the USA with “5% “ (sic) of the population has about 20% of Covid deaths”,using  numbers fraught with uncontrolled variables and unknowns . Total world population (@7.8 billion)includes densely populated nations with very little control in actual mortality data. (China India) as well as vast swaths of areas where people live in near isolation and to which this pandemic has not yet reached.  The comparison Fauci makes is not valid)

It seems that Fauci has a penchant for applying rigor to certain numbers —which he has some preconceived notions about (such as studies on hydroxycholoquine) while for him it’s just fine to use sloppy math, uncontrolled variables and hyperbole when describing something he favors or would like folks to believe.

So it was OK to claim that the raw mortality numbers  comparing the world’s most touristed, most affluent nation’s covid 19 infections were valid to use in comparison to other nations,  though they completely ignore population differences.

A true scientific approach in comparing national responses to the pandemic (fraught as they are with many differences in culture, genetics, obesity rates, comorbidities,  health care, etc.) is to eliminate as many variables as possible in the comparison.  The first would be controlling for population size -thus representing data as numbers per million population.   So viewing countries of vastly different population sizes and trying to claim something about how they are responding to the pandemic is meaningless —unless you are so politicized that you are simply trying to cast the US in a bad light.

Yes the USA does have the highest numbers of covid mortality—but it is a nation of 325 million.  We can not compare the raw data of the USA deaths to that of Andorra -a tiny nation (Pop 80,000) tucked away in isolation in the Pyrenees between Spain and France. In effect that is what Fauci did when he claimed: the “numbers don’t lie”.

On most reasonable characterizations of covid 19 mortality rates the USA is about 8th on the list of most impacted world nations in regard to Covid cases and mortality rates.

Fauci apparently has the habit of viewing  the “glass as half empty” rather than “half full”.  In this crisis we are faced with negativism all around us.  Our leadership should be presenting data in an unbiased format.  In this stage of our tribulations we do not need supposed specialist running around hanging black crepes of mourning like morticians in the nation’s public media.

Unlike Fauci’s ‘‘this is not going away” versus the Presidnt’s view —that “this will pass” (ridiculed by the media) the President is right.  Covid 19 will pass the same way other pandemics did —small pox, measles, polio, and other former diseases.  Real scientists know that these populations all reach  a peak  and then drop off precipitously.  So will Covid 19.   It too will pass on.

USA COVID WORST CASE? NOT USA ! SEE RECENT DATA

The USA has a fraction of the rate of covid 19 infections per million inhabitants and one of the lowest rates of mortality relative to confirmed cases than other similar nations.  

The USA is not the worst case of Covid 19 mismanagement and unpreparedness that the politicized US main stream media would like to portray.  In fact —unbiased data—shows that its response is better than average when compared to similar nations.  The US media outlets are so infected with another pandemic—Trump manic hatred—that they can not even present scientific data in an unbiased manner.  The data below is from Le Monde—the French  daily paper of record.

From the LeMonde data we can see that the USA ( 8th down the list) when compared to other highly populated affluent and advanced states is Well down the list—and appears to be dealing with the corona virus pandemic as well as can be expected—and certainly not worse than other similar advanced states. These data are of course fraught with difficulties when attempting a comparison—One must recon with population size, citiizen regimentation or lack of it, level of personal freedom in a nation, genetic homogeneity, cultural practices, existing morbidity factors, rates of obesity and heavy smoking, etc.,etc.,  etc.,  all can have an effect on infection and death rates. 

According  to Le Monde data there  were @700,000 confirmed deaths world wide out of total of  @18 million confirmed cases. Thus the world mortality rate for covid 19 is  @ 4%. If that is accurate then covid is 40 times more deadly than the common flu with a rate of only 0.1%  It’s noteworthy that the USA is slightly below the world average (at @ 3% mortality) and well below the other top ranked sates with regard to this disease, suggesting that our hospital care and medical response is better than average. 

It’s quite apparent to all of us now (See; Washington Post “Mapping World Wide Spread of Corona Virus “ August 1, 2020) that  the Washington Post, the NYT and other similar main stream media outlets are in the business of making the USA look bad—in every way they can—so as to deflate the political future of President Trump in the coming elections.  But it is unconscionable that a newspaper of record such as the Post will go to such lengths in a purely informative piece of journalism —to manipulate nformation which may be critical in the national response to the pandemic.  Such behavior is irresponsible—yellow— journalism .  

But what the actual unbiased data shows —see tabulation above—is that the USA is responding well and responsibly to the threats of the virus.  The actual data gives NO ONE  license to claim that the President or administration has been remiss in its handling of the pandemic. Though some media source go to great lengths even to manipulating pandemic data to make that seem so.  It is the Trump manic derangement syndrome in action.  Sadly in attempting to unseat, delegitimize and politically damage President Trump they hurt us all and embarrass themselves. 

WaPost Scrubs Data on Covid 19 to SmearUSA: Embarrass Themselves

The Washington Post prepared a “summary” of the Coronavirus pandemic data.  “Mapping worldwide spread of the coronavirus.  August 1, 2020. It’s an insult to any intelligent reader.  I recall that Sir Francis Bacon once wrote that “reading maketh a full man, conference maketh  a ready man  and writing maketh an  exact man”  Apparently the writers for the Post have simply not been writing enough to become exact men and women.  

In a review of the covid 19 data they seem to start with an idea of what the results should look like and then proceed to manipulate the information to get to that point.  Sir Francis Bacon would call that circular reasoning. In effect turning logic and science on its head. If you would like to be fooled and mentally manipulated read: Washington Post “Mapping worldwide spread of the coronavirus.  August 1, 2020.  See how they try to compare apples and oranges and give a totally misrepresentative picture of the pandemic.   

Below I report on a similar piece published in  Le Monde the French daily. The French are not so badly infected with Trump manic derangement syndrome.  Furthermore they do not have an election at hand so they are less likely to politicize all manner of reporting —as in the Post case even simple analysis of existing mathematical data. 

The report I recommend appeared in LeMonde (July 31, 2020): “The Current Corona Virus Crisis Will Affect Us for Decades.   According to a graph published and included in  the Le Monde piece concerns the  world covid 19 pandemic.  It reveals that the disease peaked around the beginning of April with about 10,000 deaths reported worldwide and and then slowly declined to about 4000 or 5000 deaths by June.  Subsequently, the world rate  has begun to rise again in a second wave.   At the date of this publication it was almost 6000 deaths worldwide. The last data points have shown a turn downward so it seems as though perhaps the second wave is now declining but slowly. 

The LeMonde editors were apparently aware that you simply can not compare  confirmed cases and death rates in nations around the world attempting to compare nations with hugely different population sizes.  Results from such an exercise are meaningless.  How can one compare the total deaths to covid 19 in Greece (pop 10 million) with the USA (320 million).  The population size variable must be eliminated for a valid comparison.   

Thus logically— like the French— they published a list of the ten front line nations and included  data based  on confirmed cases and deaths —per million population.  The numbers of cases is of course controlled by just how many tests a nation has completed.  However mortality —related to the disease—per million population I can be a better measure  of just how the disease is progressing in each of the nations.  According to a list compiled by the French newspaper the numbers of deaths per million list follows.

ΤHINK OF VOTING FOR BIDEN-THINK AGAIN

Biden is 77 years old and certainly not a vigorous septuagenarian.  He seems fragile and infirm.  He has a prison pallor from all those months in his basement.  I am giving my own age away when I say he reminds me of a character on the old (and hilarious ) radio show Fred Allen Show  (@1945)    Allen created the character Senator Beauregard Claghorn and his side kick Senator Bloat who were played major roles and whom Allen hilariously interviewed on the show.   Claghorn was the epitome of the back-slapping, loose lipped, empty headed professional southern politician—(who has sadly never left us).  Claghorn was cast as a deep south character,  but Biden does him justice in his phony folksy manner, his  touchy freely habits, his hair-sniffing and “handy ness” of prodding and patting lady parts; even though he represented a state just barely south of Mason-Dixon Line.

Biden ran for the Presidency three times.  I remember the first go round. Every one recognized that this bloviating Delaware Senator didn’t have the gravitas needed and thus we were all not too surprised when It was revealed that he plagiarized a Brit for an important speech of his own .    He couldn’t even do that well. He took large obvious segments from this British politician’s  speech, not even aware  that many folks in the US regularly read British politicians too.  That scandal knocked Joe out of the race immediately   I notice old habits don’t  die.  He has been at it again .Many of his recent babblings have been derived from better thought out speeches delivered by  President Trump more than three years ago.

Biden has remained safe in his basement and mostly silent on the  pandemic of violence affecting our major progressive leaning  cities. These urban areas light up in flames and bombings  each night for the last two months as a result of the actions of violent mobs, anarchists, and “Antifa” thugs who go about  looting businesses, burning down buildings, tearing  down statuary all with the tacit approval of weak “progressive” mayors and governors who laughingly claim these are “peaceful” demonstrations.

The overall impact of these “peaceful demonstrations” will probably amount to billions upon billions of dollars that these cities can ill afford and in time have to pay for.  Be sure they will be going hat in hand to Washington where they will hope to find a complicit and malleable Biden there to take your tax dollars and give them away to these undeserving city and state officials.

Biden has promised to eliminate the oil and gas industry—along with the near  10 million jobs they generate. He promises to drastically increase taxes, claiming to  take money from the “wealthy”. But it’s your pocket he’s looking into.  Al of those who in pursuit of their own financial security work hard to create new businesses, generating well paying jobs.  He waste to strangle the goose which lays the golden egg and cook it up for his social far left base of radical supporters.

He promises to open the borders so that Americans who are at present struggling to return to work
will have more competition. Open borders is a bad idea in the era of deadly communicable disease and tight job markets.  We are full up with immigrants at present having the highest percentage of legal (and illegal) newcomers to this nation in our recent history.

He is promising free college degrees, health care and other free goodies (even for illegal immigrants) paying for them by plunging his hands into the pockets hard working American tax payers.

Biden promises, to aid and abet that disaster (open border) by favoring opening up the ballot boxes to mail in voting so anyone  who happens to be in the country and simply wants to vote can do so. .  this is a sure way to create chaos after the election and undermine the legitimacy of our sacred election processs.

He has embraced the idea of reparations for African Americans (blacks or Blacks ???).  But who are they?  How do we know who gets a reparation and who does not?  And who should pay for these reparations?  Southerners? Descendants of former slave owners?  Or all Americans? Most Americans living and paying taxes today had no relationship to the enslavement of these folks and why should they be asked to pay reparations?  This idea will go no where and cause more harm than any good.

Biden has taken on the  ideas of the “ green new deal” —an experiment in economics that will cost trillions upon trillions of dollars to implement—what we do not have now—And just a jump from one system to another —which should be done gradually over decades—would occur at the worst possible time when the nation is struggling to recover from the Covid 19 debacle. This is another idea that will cause more harm than good.

Biden is soft on our most serious, existential and emergent threat—China.  China has been finally revealed as not a simple competitor but a sinister scheming theat to our nation’s wealth, military, global interests and personal safety. (They had the knowledge, the means and the opportunity to avoid passing the Covid virus on to the USA, but they chose to let it happen—obviously intent on weakening their major competitor in the world.) During his career Biden as a undistinguished Senator for tiny Delaware Biden used his position to leverage “deals” for his sons and for his brother.  His Chinese deals are legendary. His family has made millions upon millions as a result of insider deals he leveraged as Obama’s point man on China.

Finally, for those who are religious-God fearing folk —Biden is as corrupt and hypocritical in this area as in every other.  Once a Catholic in name only—but now he openly supports the anti religious elements in his party and those who castigate anyone who espouses to be  religious—Protestant Catholic or Jew.   Biden openly supports  the most extreme fringe elements of the abortion rights groups —permitting abortions of viable innocent  babies into the last stages of pregnancy.

Once a supporter of the Hyde Amendment which prohibited the use of federal funds το pay for abortions.  In effect Government spending forced  those who abhor abortion as the taking of innocent life to pay for what they see as unconscionable. Biden—the “Catholic” has now reversed his position on the Hyde amendment and has proposed abandoning it.

For eight years Biden played  “Senator Claghorn” the folksy, unthreatening,  back-slapping and ice breaker, the Sancho Panza or Jay Silverheels’ Tonto— to the real leader an  alpha male—the too serious, too  intellectual, too detached Obama as the  President. Biden is stuck in that role

VP Joe was in every way a second banana , kept around to make Obama seem human.  When President Obama had to choose who was to be the person to run for president in 2016 and continue to support and sustain his “legacy”—he kicked Joe under the bus, as unworthy of support//and gave his full support to Hillary Clinton.  Obama is the person who knows Joe best and he rejected him for the job.  Joe went off to his basement and quietly took the humiliation and punishment.  He had no fight in him. He just let Obama push him around.  Such behavior does not generate confidence that Biden could stand up to international bullies and threats to support you—the American citizen.

 Joe was never a leader always a Second banana and follower.  At this point the nation does not need two Vice Presidents....Joe and his lady VP.  The nation needs one strong and determined leader to fight for us and to get us out of this economic and Covid pandemic  mess.

President Trump has proved he can lead.   In the face of massive illegal intervention and intrigue by his predecessors before the election and treasonous schemes to unseat him after the election he succeeded,  overcoming monumental opposition, even from those in his own party.  He succeeded in keeping the peace, generating millions of  new jobs, and creating a thriving economy the envy of the world.   He has proved his worth.

Joe is only a second banana.  He is physically, mentally and emotionally unfit for the presidency.  He is a doppelgänger of Fred Allen’s laughable Senator Claghorn who we should -/like Claghorn—had a few laughs with him and then retired him  permanently.

Think again.

USA: SYSTEMIC RACISM? BALONEY!

The left would like for us to pound our chests with “mea culpa” as we bend our knees and  self flagellate to the god of racial guilt.  But most Americans are unblemished by this sin.

The left love to misrepresent history—such as that slavery was the impetus for the Revolutionary War...or that the USA is a nation burdened with “systemic racism”. The poorly or unschooled whippersnappers that somehow were pushed ahead each year into the next successive grade and never learned the basics —like their sixth grade Times Table (Go on ask them to do a multiplication and watch as they stall and  stumble looking for the calculator on their iphones ) or how to keep a bank book or which end of the hammer to hold are now in position is of authority.  They think they know what they are doing—-they graduated from college!. But they know no history or geography.  Maths that is way beyond them.  So trust them not.

But you can believe this:  the USA is NOT A RACIST NATION.  Far from it.

Let’s not forget this is the nation where religious whites, such as the Quakers,  as well as Baptist Abolitionists with John Brown as one of their leaders risked and lost their lives to protect and harbor blacks fleeing from southern states. This is the nation which established the famed  Underground Rail Road to free a blacks from a life from slavery.   This is the nation where  Abraham Lincoln, a Republican was handily elected to the Presidency on an anti-slavery platform.  In this nation we fought a horrible  Civil War with massive casualties to settle the question of slavery and succession to maintain a slave state.  Near the end of the war the Emancipation Proclamation was promulgated.  It was in this Nation That white legislatures around the nation passed the 13th and 14th  Amendments (13 to abolish slavery and 14 to insure “equal protection” of all citizens).   In this nation white folks across the nation voted to  pass the 15th Amendment (guaranteeing all people of every color the right to vote).   In the all white Supreme Court voted for the 1954 Brown vs Board of Education decision (abandons separate but equal education facilities).  In this nation,   Rosa Parks began the Montgomery Bus boycott (1955) . In this nation Republican  President Dwight Eisenhower sent federal troops to Little Rock Arkansas to enforce integration of the Little Rock High School.  In this nation both blacks and whites  in the 1963 March on Washington to support Civil rights1963.    In this nation the Congress passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  In this nation in 1962  southern educators moved to integrate “Ole Miss” U and permit James Meridith entry.  In this nation  Dr. King gave his  “I have a Dream” speech to massive crowds (1963).  In this nation an all white Congress passed the Voting Rights Act of 1965.  In this nation Thurgood Marshall, the first black jurist was elevated to the Supreme Court in 1967.  We passed the fair Housing act of 1968 in this nation.  We supported the  first black woman, Shirley Chisholm to run for president in 1972.  We passed the  Affirmative Action Laws in 1978 (which gave blacks set aside positions and preferences in schools, universities, and competitive tests incrasing their presence greatly in our  most elite and selective universities. In 1984 civil rights worker and black activist  Jesse Jackson ran for president.  This is a nation in which Oprah Winfrey launched her popular talk show—to become the richest, most influential black woman in world.  This is the nation where a poor black kid Colin Powell from the Bronx NY rose to be  4 Star General of the Army , and the  Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff, and was appointed Secretary of State in 2001.  This is the nation where in 2005 Condolezza Rice was to become first black woman Secretary of State.  And most recently in 2008 this is the nation that elected a black community worker from Hawaii to be the 44th US President:  Barack Obama.  President Obama was telvered and honored and served two full terms.  Millions upon millions of American whites elected him twice to be their President.

 All of these achievements were made manifest with the full cooperation,  financial support, votes and empathetic succor of millions of white Americans of all political persuasions. Sixty or seventy million American enthusiastically voted for President Obama two times in a row!

Are there racists in the USA?  Sadly yes.  Sorry to say they occur in both the white and black communities of our nation in perhaps equal numbers.  Racism is endemic around the world in all nations and ethnic and racial groups.  Unlike the USA some nations do have formal racist policies— real systemic racism.  These include China, Japan, India,  and several well-known ally nations in the Middle East of more than one religious persuasion are formally racist states.

But are we a nation of systemic institutionalized racism? No!

Absolutely not. Our long history of revulsion of the practice is apparent and is supported by the many efforts to eliminate and ameliorate its effects.  To claim otherwise is a baldfacdd lie!
