The Dems Drag Him Out To Lie Again
Any one wo is old enough to remember the Iraq War will remember it was Colin Powell’s powerful presentation to the UN that gave final impetus for the invasion. Powell was one of the few members of the George Bush “war monger” cabinet who had any real credibility. Powell—thought of atthat time—the “reluctance warrior” was coerced by by Bush Cheney to lie to the American people and the world regarding “evidence “ that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.
On February 5, 2003 Powell delivered a powerful speech to the UN Security Council in support of the most disastrous war effort in American history. A war that took the lives of thousands of American troops and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi citizens. It cost untold trillions of dollars of US tax dollars, and helped to destabilize the whole Middle East. Its aftermaths are with to this day.
But on that date of infamy, Powell lied to the American people and to the world when he let the Bush Cheney war mongers use his credibility as a “careful, reluctant warrior” to gain the public support for the Iraq invasion Cheney and Bush wanted so desperately. Powell knew the “evidence” he presented was fabricated and he was warned several times by his advisors that what he was about to do was present false information.
Powell did not have the courage to stand up to “junior Bush” and Cheney. He lied for them. In the end his credibility and his reputation was shattered and he departed from the Bush Administration as belittled and reduced man. Never was he to be taken seriously again. That is until the era of that other “plague”— the Trump derangement plague—when up is down, black is white and mendicants are truth tellers.
Powell’s lies to invade Iraq cost the USA taxpayer dearly and it weakened and demoralized the American military. It is laughable that the Democrats chose Powell in an attempt to smear President Trump. Have they no knowledge of history? It was Trump who did NOT support the Iraq invasion and has over his first term consistently attempted to get our troops out of harms way—unlike Powell who did the opposite.
“COLIN POWELL DELIVERED his presentation making the case for war with Iraq at the United Nations 15 years ago, on February 5, 2003.
As much criticism as Powell received for this — he’s called it “painful” and something that will “always be a part of my record” — it hasn’t been close to what’s justified. Powell, who was secretary of state under President George W. Bush, was much more than just horribly mistaken: He fabricated “evidence” and ignored repeated warnings that what he was saying was false.”*

PS. It was troubling to learn that this critical episode in the life of Colin Powell has been expunged from the Wikipedia biography of Powell. How the media distort and corrupt our history for political purposes is very troubling.
