BIDEN HYPOCRISY:–Charge Russia with “war crimes” at the very same time your nation is hunting down, and attempting to imprison and silence all journalists for revealing your own war crimes.

Joe Biden’s economically dumb, and self-destructive sanction policies to punish Russia by cutting imports of their oil and gas, has blown up in his face. That policy—like many others— did not work. We (and Europe) are suffering more than the Russians. Russia is now selling more oil and gas (to China, India and elsewhere) than ever before. With that policy in tatters, the incompetent Biden team has now turned to another ineffective ploy— charging the Russians with ‘war crimes” allegedly committed in Ukraine as a means of punishing and persuading Russia to end the war.
Perhaps, this ugly part of US history is little known by the American public, but common knowledge to the rest of the world, who must be sniggering up their sleeves at Biden for having the gall to charge Russia with “war crimes”. They know this is a case of the “pot calling the kettle black”. Or better, it would be tantamount to claiming the US wine product “Ripple” is right up there on the same level as a 1945, French burgundy, Domain de la Romanee!
How could the USA—a nation which has just ended decades of ugly, destructive, and deadly war, waged across a thousand mile-wide swath of the Middle East and Asia—wars punctuated with many episodes of well-documented “collateral” destruction and death—have the chutzpah, the hypocrisy to charge the Russians with “war crimes”? The Russians are mere pikers at this. They are only grade school diplomates in this area, while the USA has earned their PhDs and post Doc assignments many times over.
Which leads us to Julian Assange, the Australian journalist and activist who founded Wikileaks in 2006. In 2010, US Army intelligence analyst, Chelsea Manning (convicted and imprisoned from 2010-2017) stole US intelligence documents and passed them to Assange who published them on his web site. The purloined documents included uncomfortable-to-watch videos entitled: “Collateral Murder” (8-2010) showing the killing of innocent civilians by US helicopter pilots, and other embarrassing documents known as: “Iraq War Logs”, and “Afghanistan War Logs”. In 2010 the USA launched a criminal investigation into Wikileaks. In the end, charging Assange with violating the little-used 1917 Espionage Act. Assange has been imprisoned or confined since 2012 when he sought asylum from US extradition in the Ecuadoran Embassy in London, later he was imprisoned in harsh Belmarsh Prison, London. He has just lost an asylum plea in the UK and will be extradited to the USA where he will face charges of spying and could be imprisoned for life.
Thus, the Biden government, while encouraging and bragging about charging Russia with “war crimes”has been part of the feverish US policy of working to silence Assange for revealing US war crimes. Since 2014 they have hounded and hunted him down and coerced and punished, any nation giving him aid or asylum. Their goal has been to hide our history, silence and criminalize (and perhaps put into a sound proof jail cell for the rest of his life) a journalist who simply published documents revealing evidence of USA war crimes. So who are we fooling? These documents have been in the pubic for years. What is the purpose of continuing to punish a journalist who did nothing different than the NY Times or Washington Post when that paper published the Watergate files?
Are they simply attempting to silence all investigative reporting?
